The Garden of Evening Winterrose

This was my submission for the 2022 Atomhawk Competition, based on the theme of Forgotten Creation. I've been reading lots of books involving old Faerie and Sidhe folklore so it all crept into my ideas for what I wanted to paint. Ultimately I settled on an illustration about the an abandoned garden whose illusions hiding it from the mortal world are growing thin.

Ultimately this piece was granted Honorable Mention in the competition, which I'm very happy and proud of! All the selected winners were amazing and I'm honored to be among them.

This was my first time heavily involving Blender into my painting process, you can see a lightly more detailed explanation in the process image. All textures were handpainted and buildings were all modeled by myself.
